Tell Attorneys General: Stop Attacking Chesapeake Cleanup

People from the six bay states and the District of Columbia have spent years calling on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to cleanup the Chesapeake Bay Watershed – which feeds directly into the Atlantic Ocean.

In September 2013, a U.S. district court stood with the impacted communities, ruling that the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint should move forward. Maryland, New York, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia have all voluntarily signed on.

But now, 21 state attorneys general – representing states as far away as Montana and Texas – are joining with the American Farm Bureau and The Fertilizer Institute to attempt to stop this critical restoration. If they win, it could set a dangerous precedent for ocean and waterway cleanups across the country.
